Sorry, Apple for not trusting your instinct.Leave your laptop behind. So yeah, I am glad about the native support. But now with native support from the OS, any mouse will do! You should try! Before you have to use special - a.k.a expensive - mouse to use full functionality. OMG, have you tried Jump Desktop app? Remote controlling your PC was magical in iPad. But should the size of display 27 inches for example… mouse wins. This may be due to the small screen of iPad that makes it easy to use finger touch.

But in reality - after few months of usage - I still find it easier to use touch screen. I myself quite a writer and imagining that mouse will drastically improve the way text selection works. Works which requires a lot of text selection or drag & drop.Else, wouldn’t it be awkward to keep reaching the iPad display while looking at the big screen? But supposed Apple fixed that in next release of iPad OS - leveling the playing field with macOS - by enabling full-screen support on an external display, then and only then trackpad & mouse setup will be useful. Which aren’t really satisfying to use right now since the black bar on both left and right sides leaving the scenario far to be desired. It turns out that it was not really a must-have. They were being criticized ( by many people including me) for late in the game of enabling iPad as a true desktop replacement. After all, why adapting to less-efficient way? Reaching mouse & trackpad feels great, but I had a hard time adjusting with the new behaviors. Being a long time - primary - iPad user, I am very accustomed to touch gestures.
